What grass seed is right for me?

If you're like most people, you have some questions when you start your spring lawn maintenance. You have to re-seed, but how do you know which grass seed is right for you?Here at John Orsini Topsoil, we sell a variety of grass seed for everyone's needs.Trininty Perennial Rye: a blend of fast growing, rye grass which will grow well in all conditions. Comparable to the popular Delaware Mix.Sunny Mix is a hearty blend pf perennial rye, kentucky blue and creeping fescue. Use this blend in areas the are pre-dominately sunny. This mix will withstand the hot, summer sun.Shady Mix is a blend of various fescue seed, used in hard to grow areas that get more shade than sun.We sell grass seed by the pound or in 50 lb. bags. Be sure to seed evenly, and keep your new seed well watered for healthy germination.

Aged mushroom soil is an excellent source of nutrients for your flower beds, vegetable gardens and new grass seed. To prepare yor beds for spring planting you should first loosen the old soil, then add some aged mushroom soil and rototill to incorporate the mushroom soil well into the old soil. This will not only make planting easier, but will add the nutrients that were lost over the cold, winter months.To top dress your existing lawn, spread a thin layer of Combination Soil over the area to be seeded and then evenly spread your seed.To start a brand new lawn, spread 2 to 3 inches of Golf Course Blend over the entire area and then evenly spread your seed.In late spring to early summer, after all your planting is complete, spread 2 to 3 inches of hardwood mulch on all your beds to keep weed growth to a minimum and to help retain the moisture during the hot summer months.Stop in today for more information and to pick up your I Got Loaded can cooler.
